About us
Built for musicians who are tired of being paid in exposure.
Backline started from a simple frustration: an artist can have thousands of engaged listeners and still earn less than a bar shift. Streaming rewards volume, social platforms reward frequency, and neither pays for the thing fans actually want — closeness to the work.
So we built the other side of it. A studio where a musician can put unreleased demos behind a tier, sell a limited vinyl run, pre-sell tickets to decide whether a show is worth doing, crowdfund an album, open a forum for the people who care, organise a street team, and charge for a real reply — all from a single artist page their fans already know.
The artist sets the price
Every tier, drop, gig package and DM rate is decided by the musician — not by a recommendation engine or a rate card.
One page, every income stream
Memberships, exclusive releases, private gigs, pledge campaigns, community forums, street teams and paid replies live in the same studio.
Fans get something real
Not a like. Access — unreleased work, a seat at a house show, a reply, a name in the credits.
No lock-in
Your audience, your files, your prices. Turn a feature off whenever it stops serving you.
Who it's for
Independent bands and solo artists at any size — a bedroom producer with 400 real listeners, a touring five-piece funding a van, a session player selling lessons and cameos. And the fans who would rather fund the record than scroll past it.
