Privacy policy

Last updated: 30 August 2026

This policy explains what Backline holds about artist and fan accounts and what you can do about it. Questions go to our contact page.

01Information we collect

Account details you give us (name, email, password, and for artists your handle, bio, genres and location), the content you upload, membership and order records, messages sent through the platform, and basic technical data such as device and browser information needed to run the site.

02How we use it

To create and secure your account, show your artist page or fan dashboard, deliver memberships and unlocks, route messages between fans and artists, respond to support requests, and keep the service working and safe.

03What we share

Artists see the display name and message content of fans who contact or subscribe to them. Public parts of an artist page — name, bio, images, published offerings — are visible to anyone. We do not sell personal data.

04Storage and security

Account, membership and message records are stored in our managed database with access rules that restrict rows to the account they belong to. Uploaded files are stored in access-controlled buckets, with gated files served through short-lived links.

05Retention

We keep account and transaction records while your account is active and for as long as needed to resolve disputes and meet record-keeping obligations. Deleted uploads are removed from the live service.

06Your choices

You can edit your profile, cancel subscriptions and delete uploads from your dashboard or studio at any time. To request a copy of your data or full account deletion, contact us and we will confirm the request by email.

07Cookies

We use cookies and local storage that are necessary to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences.

08Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update this page and note the revision date below.
